homebrewserver.club publishes practical guides to hosting your own online services from home, on small, low-power hardware.
What the site covers
The guides cover the parts every home server needs (hardware, SSH, your router, a web server) and the services people most often run on one, starting with XMPP chat and low-power websites. More guides on home services, hardware and running AI models at home are planned.
Who it is for
The guides are written for people who can use a terminal and follow instructions, but who don't run servers for a living. Each guide explains why a step is there, so you understand what you are running instead of only copying commands.
How the guides are written
- Commands, versions and settings are checked against the upstream documentation, which each guide links in its sources.
- Where a guide says it was tested, the line under its title says what it was tested on and when. Guides that say nothing about testing were not tested end to end.
- Guides are updated when the software they describe changes. The date under each title shows the last update.
- Links to other sites are there because they are useful to you. The site does not take payment for links.
